Before you call
Basic Troubleshooting Tips: You can always call AQ HVAC Service & Repair, but here are a few simple things you can try first:
Heating:
*Make sure your thermostat is set to the "HEAT" position.
*Make sure the thermostat temperature is set above(or higher than)the indoor temperature that is showing on the thermostat.
*Ensure there is power to the furnace.
*Try turning the fan switch on the thermostat to "ON" to check for power.
* Check curcuit breakers at the electrical panel to make sure they are " ON".
*Check filters and replace. All 1 inch filters should be replaced monthly. All 2 inch or other high capacity pleated filters can be replaced every other month.
*Check all return grills and make sure that they are not obstructed or blocked by furniture.
*Check that all supply registers are open and not blocked off. Be sure all registers are blowing air.
Cooling:
*Make sure your thermosatat is set to the "COOL" position.
*Make sure your outside unit is running
*Check circuit breakers to see if they are on.
*Check the outside unit's "SERVICE DISCONNECT SWITCH" is on.
*Ensure the blower motor on inside unit is running.
*Make sure you have recently changed your filter. An extremely blocked filter can shut down the outside unit from lack of proper airflow.
*Make sure all return grills are not blocked by furniture. Furniture should be atleast 4 inches away from the register grills for proper airflow.
